Walking to School on an Icy Snow Day

We live very close to  my children's school so even on Winter days, we  walk.  It's a good exercise for all of us.  Sometimes, my husband would drive the kids in the morning when he goes to work but when there is a two-hour delay, we have to walk.  Going home from school though, we always walk everyday.  I can drive but I chose not to, we can benefit more from walking than riding.
I am so glad that my children are used to it that you will never hear them complain about it.  In fact, they enjoy it as we play in the snow on our way home.  Last Thursday was fun because we were walking on top of the snow and every time  our feet would  go down, the crunchy sound of the icy snow was fun for them.

  1. Good to see the children enjoy what they have. I always walked to school at their age and loved seeing and feeling the tastes of morning. The afternoon walk was refreshing after school. Lovely photos.

  3. An exercise for them and for you too. Better for them to have this system so that, they value their time and energy for the good of the family.

  8. You are absolutely right, we don't need to drive as there are good benefits when you walk as long as the weather is good and not too cold that would be a great way to exercise.

  15. I was going to write I'm sure your kids love to walk in the snow, and there you are writing it down below your post. It's actually us adults who really won't trudge the ground when it snows (ako yun). I can go for days on end staying in, and not go out in this kind of weather. Panalo tayo this winter, puro snow hahah.
